Suntory takeover of Jim Beam, second largest M&A deal in US at $13billion

"Suntory’s $13.6 billion buyout of Beam, the maker of Jim Beam....is the second largest acquisition of a U.S. company by a Japanese buyer....Outbound Japanese M&A and Japanese buyouts of U.S. companies ..peaked in 2012, according to Thomson Reuters. Japanese companies spent $85.5 billion (in 2012) ..buying companies outside of (Japan)...including $48 billion in U.S. deals."
